National Chamber EnsembleThis one gets a huge flick of my paw! The www.nationalchamberensemble.org presents unusual and fun concerts. Their Artistic Director, Leo Sushansky, flips over backwards to come up with new ways to make music interesting to all ages. Mommy says I can't go, but I can listen to them on YouTube. Hey - that's my big brother on the left!
Play with your foodLet www.idafrosk.com (also instagram.com/idafrosk) and jimspancakes.com be your inspiration and guide for what you can do with edible. Ida reproduces famous artworks on toast, while Jim has created a new art form from colored pancake batter. My mommy says she would eat breakfast every day if it looked like this.

Visit Alexandria, Virginia
Check out Visit Alexandria Virginia (visitalexandriava.com) for events ranging from special exhibits at Mount Vernon to chamber music at the Lyceum. Alexandria hosts a few great parades each year, festivals and great restaurants. The Torpedo Factory houses artists and artisans on the waterfront to the Potomac River, where tour boats and dinner cruises launch. Scooting out the other end of town, you can view the city from the heights of the Washington Masonic Lodge, soak up blues, coffee and ice cream in Del Ray and trot out to Green Spring Gardens to see the nation's witchhazel collection and a huge and varied collection that includes some very choice catnip, pick up some gifts or delight in special afternoon teas and lectures (reservations required).

They say every journey starts with a few small steps.
